Embed an RTF field in Linked Document
« on: November 02, 2010, 10:06:01 pm »
Hi,
problem: Element's linked document contains linked (not embedded) pictures. Element's package is under version control. When that package is checked out on a computer which doesn't have network connection to the linked images at the time, EA STRIPS AWAY links to those pictures in linked document - no questions asked. So when you make check in, unaware of this problem - your pictures are lost. This problem has been reported to Sparx but don't know when and if it shall be solved.
I'm trying to find a workaround. The point is to generate RTF report for elements so that the documentation for those elements would contain some images which reside on the file system (or somewhere else - the point is those images are being updated once in a while).
I tried: insert data filed option to mimick Word field code and then import generated rtf report in Word- no luck; put only tekstual version of Word field code and do the same - no luck; linked files of the element can only be listed in the report, I don't know is there option to embed them?
Any suggestions?
thanks
