Unable to get EA debugger to stop at breakpoints

I am using jvm 1.6 and set up the EA integration as specified, ie., verified dll SSPRofiler is loaded etc.,
My package has a debug script which attaches to jvm process its an appserver. I can see the breakpoints and they are solid red but they dont get triggered.

I  ran the vm without the debug flags turned on, but when I tried to turn the debugflag on and run it, it gave me this error.
JDWP unable to get necessary JVMTI capabilities

Emails to support have gotten no response.
This is for EA 7.1
