MDG integration for Eclipse in Linux
« on: February 13, 2011, 02:29:58 am »
Hi, I'm investigating the possibility of using EA in my company, and my final goal is to understand if it is possible to make EA with MDG integration for Eclipse working under Linux. Therefore I downloaded a trial version of these tools.

EA runs under the CrossOver Windows compatibility layer, apparently with no problems at all. I'm using a Linux version of Eclipse, instead, so I indicated to the installation program the plugin directory of my Eclipse installation under Linux, which is seen as another disk by any Windows program running under CrossOver, as the correct place where to put the MDG plugin.

Apparently the installation was successful, and now I can see the menu "Enterprise Architect" in Eclipse, but when I try to open an existing EA project by selecting the "EA Project Explorer" option of that menu, I get the "The chosen operation is not currently available" error message. The same message comes out when I try to select "MDG option" under the same menu.

Any suggestion? Did anyone successfully try to install and use the MDG integration for Eclipse under Linux?

Thank you in advance,

Alberto

MDG Link for Eclipse should work under Linux, but MDG Integration is not supported.
