MDG elements keep switching between shape script and original

Hi - I created some custom MDG profiles a few months ago, that are currently being used by our Business Architect people, but they have suddenly started switching between the Native element images, and the shape script ones in a rather random fashion.

Sometimes I can go to the package and they are properly shape shifted, other times, they go back to UML components. These are elements on diagrams as well as the ICONs in the toolbox.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Sparx 12.1 is the tool I am using.

Do you mean that this happens without changing anything (mainly stereotypes) of the elements?
If yes, I have never seen that and you should post a bug to Sparx.

You must be doing something wrong. Never heard of "random switching". Is it on one machine in the same session/different sessions or between different machines/users?

Yes interesting, the only think that happened after months of use is there was machine update the night before.

The randomness is such you can drag a shapescripted element onto a diagram and it works, drag the next one on and the icons have changed back to components as do the diagram component.

It is triggered by doing something to the diagram, either moving the element or dragging a new element on there.

I did create a new MDG package with a new ID, and that seems to have worked, altought I am getting duplicate ID now.

Still your description leaves too much room for speculation. Try turning off all MDGs except the basic UML and your specific one.

There is an obscure bug where if you have a stereotype with a shapescript  and  override it with alternative image then later set it back to alternative image is none Sparx EA V12.1 does try and draw both the shapescript and the base UML shape simultaneously. Its been reported to Sparx and they've acknowledge it as a bug so some time in the future they'll fix it.
Other than that I've not experienced random switching as you described and I've used a lot of custom shape scripting.
