Distribute MDG Technology via Cloud Services?

Hello,

is it possible to distribute MDG Technologies automatically via the Cloud Services? To be more specific, what I would like to do is to have a custom MDG Technology available on a locally (client-side) installed EA instance as soon as it connects to a specific EA cloud instance.

So far I have copied the MDG related files to the local installation directory of the clients (...\EA\MDGTechnologies\), which is working fine (of course, all technologies are available independently of the EA cloud instance), but it would be much nicer to not have to do this client-side rollout of the MDG Technologies.

Not sure if you can do this via the cloud service, but what I have done in the past is deploy my MDG xml to a web server. Users then add the url to the MDG. Any updates made to the MDG on the web server are automatically picked up,

Using Project (Repository) options you can specify which set of MDGs must be loaded into EA so that the repository will open.

This feature maybe a way to load you MDG conditionally.

Try this:

Connect to your cloud repository and set the list of MDGs (including your custom MDG) and then disconnect. (In EA version 13 this the Configure Ribbon / Model / Options

Start EA and configure the MDGs to exclude your custom MDGs

I always load MDG's in the model (repository).
This way they are always available no matter how you connect to the model.
