Linking attributes and OWL problems
« on: September 20, 2016, 11:06:37 pm »
Hi Guys,

We are investigating the possibility of using EA in our work enviroment. We have a data model for producing schemas.
It is critical for us to make associations at attribute level. How can we link in EA on attribute level?

Also we are using OWL for storing and maintaining a business glossary of terms (we imported some RDF files). Does someone know you to generate an UML model out of OWL?
And how do we link atributes in OWL?

Hope someone can help us!

When you create an association between two class, where you right click to get the properties et al is context sensitive.  If you right click closer to the classes you'll get a link to element feature option.

I gave up on RDF\OWL in EA.  It may have improved in v13 but I don't have the scope to test it.  I use archetype/concept models create as straight UML class models instead.

Thanks Glassboy, the first linking problem is solved! Now we are still trying to get the OWL model work. Hopefully someone can help us with that.

Another way to create connectors between attributes is to use the ERD notation. "You can access the Entity Relationship Diagram page of the Toolbox through the More tools | Entity Relationship Diagrams  option."

Your OWL/RDF problem can actually have a lot to do with the tools that created the source files.
