V 13 Schedule
« on: September 22, 2016, 09:07:27 pm »
Anyone know when V13 is going to be released?

The next Beta Version?

Seems like this is delayed, when the webinar about V13 is delayed until October

In the past we never got this kind of information from Sparx.
I don't expect that to change anytime soon.

Hi,

Had a chat With an insider. I am expecting that we will see the final release during NeXT month - august.

NeXT month - august.
So August 2017? That seems longer then I would expect.

If I were to gamble I would put my money on Oktober or November 2016

Being in software development I clearly understand the issues.  I would rather it take longer with issues solved than have the product rushed out with issues.

From memory, this beta, which started in June, is taking longer than the beta for previous major releases.  So I'm hoping the official release is imminent, i.e. October.

Hope dies at last. But I buried that already since there's probably no escape from those ribbons since they rather feel like a fetter than a loose ribbon :-(

Well, I decided to embrace the ribbon and after a few WTF (where the feck?) did they put...  I'm now convinced that the degree of consistency required of ribbon design provide a better UI.

For those who prefer menus, look at the ribbon as a slightly skewed menu...  For example, I constantly update the MDG - the Ribbon is: Configure > Technology > Manage - which you can read as a menu graph.  Once I got that, it became a lot easier to remember where things were.  Minimizing the ribbon creates the simulacrum of a menu system.

My AU$0.05

I'm guessing the production cost of your 5 cent coin is actually more than its nominal value.  Which is why we don't have them anymore.  And why we have the better GDP growth.  But it makes your AU$0.05 worth great value!

Correct; and they are talking about phasing them out - as we did with the AU$0.01 and AU$0.02 coins.

Can't comment on GDP.

But a number of Kiwis (and Aussies for that matter) are coming (back) your way...
