Associations from XSD import

I am importing an XSD file describing a complex type. Even though I select 'association' in the import dialog box, I still see that it uses attributes in some cases, where multiplicity is set to [0..1]. Is there anything I can do to force it into a association?  (Or perhaps someone can point to a script or some other way to fix it afterwards?)
