Metatypes - inconsistent in Search and Properties Window
« on: October 20, 2016, 06:22:44 pm »
If you describe metatypes in your MDG, EA says will use them wherever it it displays the Type.

However, this doesn't always happen in the search results for the Project Search.  It is inconsistent.  Items with the same stereotype will not always display as the correct metatype.
For example, the stereotyped Activity "BsnssPrcss" is metatyped as: "Business Process".  In the search output SOME "Business Processes" will list as: Business Process / BsnssPrcss  others will list as: Activity / BsnssPrcss.

The problem is an INTERNAL EA issue since if you select an item listed as Activity / BsnssPrcss in the Properties Window the type is (Correctly) "Business Process".

Not withstanding that this is a VERY OLD repository and the underlying stereotypes may not be quite correct (that is the t_xref entry may not be "according to Hoyle"), the issue is one of self inconsistency.
