Paste of behaviors into classifiers
« on: November 24, 2016, 12:42:41 am »
Currently, EA doesn’t allow to copy a behavior (e.g., an interaction) owned by a class and paste it as another behavior in the same or another class. We can only paste it into a package and then move it to the class we want to.

Suggestion: Allow any kind of classifier be pasted as an inner element of another classifier, since it is allowed by UML.

Hi Jose,

I copied a behavior, an interaction, owned by a class into the package. It works. After I have copied it into the class I may drag it into class. Then I have a classes with an interaction beneath. The behavior is a copy of the old one.
- Select interaction in browser
- Copy/Paste
- Full Structure for Duplication
- Select Package
- Copy/Paste
- Past Element(1) from Clipboard

Is it possible I haven't understood you?

Kind regards,

Helmut

Thanks, Helmut.

I believe I didn’t explain my suggestion clearly.

I’ve been using the same technique you refer: copy the interaction -> paste into a package -> move it to the destination class. My suggestion is actually to have a quicker alternative: paste it directly to the destination class. EA is not allowing that, while there is no impediment in UML for doing it.

Best regards
José
