Export XMI not 100% standard UML 2.1 XMI??

I came across this statement when looking for import/export possibilities in EA With otherUML modelling Tools:

Enterprise Architect does not export 100% standard UML 2.1 XMI, and this causes some data loss during the import.

The Reference was to v7.1, 7.5 or 8.0. Is this still true for v12.1 & 13? Is there a niffty way I can check this out?

Where did the quote come from?

I've seen EA generated XMI used in OMG standards.

On the other hand I've seen standards development teams blame EA because they've used non-standard UML (ad-hoc stereotypes) and didn't get a pure export as a result.
