Can’t multi-select items in Element Browser

We use the Element Browser to help in "Evangelising" properties of elements - such as Tagged Values and Features etc. using "drag and drop" from the Element Browser Window to the object on the diagram.  You are probably familiar with this functionality from the Project Browser window.

However, unlike the Project Browser, you can't multiply select things.  I'm talking about things of the same type - say multiple attributes.  This is a severe restriction.
