RTF report  template headers
« on: October 14, 2011, 01:29:49 pm »
Hello,
anyone know how to edit an existing header in an RTF template, when there is both a first page header, and a standard header?

The only one which displays is the first page header - which is not the one I want to edit. It seems the only way to "edit" it is to delete it and create it again - is there another way?

Hi,

you can create your second page header and report the first page header as rtf-code

Specification for rtf you can find here:
http://www.biblioscape.com/rtf15_spec.htm#Heading29

If you create templates with the Document designer you can choose between "First Page header/Footer" or "Page header/footer"

Greetings

I'm using the internal (to EA) document template editor.

While there is a menu item called "Edit page header/footer" it only allows editing of the first page header. There is no menu item (that I can find) which switches the editor to the second/follow-on page header.

All I can do is delete it and start again - resulting in unnecessary re-work.

These templates are in a shared repository (MS SQL) - not a standalone EAP file. So I have no idea where they are and would prefer not to try to edit them outside of EA.

Thanks

Hi spirax,

under the button Edit page header/footer you have the button for "edit forst page header/footer" and than "edit left header/footer".

it doesn't really matter if they are in an EAP or in an MYSQL-repository. the paractise is the same and also the usage of the template editor.

You can save your templates( to make sure you can use them again) with "Project->Model Import/Export->Export reference Data" and select your wishes.

In 910 I can't make edit first page header work properly, compared to edit page header. Its not clear at all what effect editing the header has, and my edits seem to leak through from the first page to all pages.
