Archimate - Can't move elements between packages

Hello,

I did a search but didn't find anything that addressed my specific issue. Maybe it is unique to Archimate model elements.
I created a hierarchy of packages because I have hundreds of application components. How can I move an element out of one package and into another?  I see the package name in the properties, but it is not editable. Trying to drag and drop only opens the properties dialog.

IIRC there's a setting to control that (or behaviour like that).  I think it controls whether to open the properties dialog or not.  You SHOULD be able to drag and drop elements between packages.  We do it all the time.  Go through the settings dialogs (there are a couple).

AFAIK EA will not apply any restriction (ArchiMate or anything else) on moving elements between packages, as long as

• The elements / packages is not locked (or you haven't applied a lock when 'require user lock to edit' is on)
• [The target package is not a Root node/li]
