v14 Beta: Technologies dialog crashing
« on: March 08, 2018, 01:22:02 pm »
Enabling/disabling technologies in the technologies window causes crashes.

Anyone else seeing this?

Seems to have been related to the Missing MDG topic.  Resolving that, seems to have resolved the crashing.

See v14 Beta: Missing MDG

This seems a little strange.

You've said in the support email that it also happens without a model loaded, but the option you state that fixes it is model dependent and is preventing you from opening that model.

I've tried setting a model to have that technology as required. The technology dialog still allows me to toggle technologies both before and after attempting to open that model.

Agreed, it's strange, but it IS EA after all.

I'm not worried unless the crashing rears its ugly head again.

I'm glad it's no longer bothering you. It's still something that concerns me even though no-one here has managed to reproduce it.

Just bothered me!  :(  It's intermittent.

What I AM noticing is that the set of "enabled" MDGs keeps varying; particularly our local MDGs.  I select them.  They are visibly active but when you go back into the dialog, they (some) aren't selected, nor do they (some) appear on the drop-down in the Default tools bar.

HTH,

Look at the Perspectives function in EA 14. All technologies are intended to be enabled visually, but the various places that you create things will filter down to the technologies selected in your perspective.
