I have a template document for business requirements which can be used across multiple projects and I'd like to be able to add some tables within the project model that list stakeholders for approvals, version control and others... But cannot see anyway to do this, apart from creating extended 'cover pages' in the document generation specific to each document. And this only works if the tables are prior to the table of contents.

Apart from clipping an image of a table and pasting into a diagram, is there anyway to add a table (not a DB table), but a MS Word 'type' table of headed columns and pre-populated rows into a project model?

Thanks

Al

We use linked documents for this purpose.

Hi Gert..

I've never used 'linked docs' before and was under the impression the linked documents was just a way to hyperlink out to accessible docs, so... does the document generator link these documents into the overall document at runtime?

That would be good... though keeping stuff outside of the EA DB can be problematic, but I'll give it a whirl

Thanks

Al

Al,

Linked Documents are like the notes, each element can have one.
The are stored internally in RTF format, so they allow tables, images etc..

Thanks Geert,

apologises for getting you name wrong the first time... I've yet to make them appear in my document am assuming there is a flag that needs to be set somewhere to ensure they are included?

Hi Al, you should still be able to go back and fix it with the [Modify] button at top right.

There's a linkedDocument> section that you can use in the template.
