RTF export and diagrams
« on: December 20, 2011, 02:22:02 am »
Hello,

I have to export my EA project into a RTF document and I have following problem: by exporting an activity diagram, which is on several pages, EA exports them as a unique picture without taking this into consideration! So these diagrams are too small and so on are no more readable in the RTF document...  :-/

Is there any option to solve this problem? Does anyone know if EA has such a feature?  :-?

Thx

Best regards

ChRiS

Hey,
Is your diagramoutput set to metafile?
(EA 8.0: in the RTF-Documentation-Dialog open the Tab "Advanced" and switch the "Diagram Format" to "Metafile")

The metafile contains vector graphics, so stretching is no problem -- now you can zoom into your rtf until you can read it, or you stretch the diagram for your needs :)

unfortunately I don't only have one of such a diagram type LOL

I will try to find another way... E.g. creating "sub"-diagrams...  ::)

Maybe this issue has been corrected or improved in the latest EA release :-/

Thx

well..
there is another thing you can do:
open the Diagram's Properties window, select the Diagram Tab an check the box "Divide Diagram into multiple Pages"

Has anyone successfully exported the Parameter Data (Name, Type, etc) which is within the Properties of a BusinessProcess element using the API?

I'm trying the same thing at the moment as well. I've discovered that a lot of the data about ActivityParameters is hidden away in the CustomProperties collection. But I'm still looking for the ActivityParameter.Datatype: does anyone know where this is hidden?
