Sharing use case diagrams in other use case diagrams
« on: December 11, 2018, 01:18:14 am »
Hello,

I already do model use case diagrams, where multiple systems are involved. Just assume a "PC" use case diagram is already modelled and a "backend" use case diagram is already modelled, too. Now I want to have a third use case diagram where I just want to re-use both existing diagrams and only link the relations between some of their use cases. If I drag and drop one of the existing use cases into the new one, there is only an option to drop it as
- "Diagram Frame" where I can visualize the use case bubbles but cannot visualize any relations to the outside of this embedded frame
- "Diagram Reference" where nothing is displayed (like an empty Diagram Frame)
- "Hyperlink" and "List" where no use case bubbles are shown neither
I'd be glad about any hint, how already existing use case setups (like entire diagrams or already modelled boundaries) can be reused in other diagrams so that relations to use cases outside this (shared boundary) are shown, too. Thanks a lot to everyone in advance!

Don't re-use diagrams, just create a new diagram and (re-)use the existing use cases "as link".
