EA Cloud Service MySQL vs Firebird

Are there any benefits or drawbacks when I switch from MySQL (localhost via ODBC) to Firebird (localhost)?
Performance, reliability, functionality?
I have a huge model and round about 50 clients.

I'm pretty sure MySQL will be a lot better with regards to performance, but I've never actually measured it.
