DOORS/Microsoft Office Plugin
« on: February 26, 2019, 06:27:46 am »
We are going to start modeling requirements so I have been looking into the different EA plugins available to support this. From what I understand, the DOORS EA plugin can be used to import and then synchronize requirements with no ability to create relationships between the requirements during the import. Is this correct?

I have a CSV version of the requirements, so I'm looking into the MDG Integration for Microsoft plugin to import and create the relationships. I would imagine in the long run I would still want to use the DOORS plugin to easily track updates/changes to the requirements, so I'm wondering, if I import the requirements using a CSV will I be able to then synchronize what I have in the model with what is in DOORS or in order to synchronize the data does it have to be directly imported into the model using the plugin for DOORS?

Take a look at the MDG Link for DOORS v3.0 beta release. This recent update adds support for importing relationships and also for export / sync from EA back to DOORS. It is still a beta release however, so please be careful before using in a production environment. If you have any feedback or questions on it, please send to [email protected].

(Note: DOORS 9.6 is required by the MDG Link for DOORS v3.0 beta release. Earlier versions of DOORS are not currently supported.)

Using CSV as an intermediary format might be possible as an alternative, but i imagine it would be problematic at difficult to maintain.
