Pro Cloud server in HA
« on: March 14, 2019, 09:21:59 pm »
Hello,

As we have a farm for the sql databases, we need to install the pro cloud server on a separate application server.
We want to have HA (high availibility) for these application servers. So is it authorized to make active/active with load balancer in front or we only can do active/passive ?

Thanks in advance.

AFAIK you can install the Pro Cloud Server in the IIS and you can use the IIS with a High-availability schema, even active-active. So, yes, you can.

Allright but as the keystore is included in the pro cloud server, how can we deal with the keystore if one of the server is down ? So in other terms, is there a mechanism of replication of keys ?

Thanks in advance.

Humm, I think there is no legal mechanism to do that. I mean, you could install two instances of keystore server with the same keys in different servers and manage them with the load balancer, but this will not be allowed in the terms of the license because it will duplicate the licenses you have available.

So, a different approach: use fixed licenses or don't use autocheckin in your floating license server. It will allow users to use licenses even with the server is not available.
