Author Topic: Attributes disappear after closing and opening (Read 4521 times)

Hello,

I gave attributes to an object. At this moment they are also displayed on the object. If I close the diagram and open it again, the attributes are no longer displayed. If I right-click Features-->Attributes in the menu, the attributes are also not present here.
If I simply create a new attribute here, the "old" attributes suddenly appear again on the object and in this submenu.

Why is that? Is it a bug or a feature? :-)

Yes I use generalizations but not with this object. This object is "free" in the diagram.

I think something has been lost in the translation between developer and support.

The issue is that the docked attributes and operations lists are allowing items to be added to elements that aren't allowed to have them.

I would expect a fix to include disabling adding attributes to elements that don't support them, preventing the situations where they are being loaded and an integrity check to detect where they have already been added.

Please don't expect a future version to display those attributes after 'closing and opening'.

I don't think it's a different answer.
It is a bug, and it will be fixed. But the fix will probably not be what you were hoping for.
As Eve said, they will probably prevent you from adding attributes to elements that are not allowed to have attributes, rather than fixing the weird show/hide behavior.
The element type you were using was never meant to have attributes, so the attributes dialog was probably never tested with those type of elements.
