MDG Technology - composite diagram with applied metamodel
« on: June 28, 2019, 05:53:18 pm »
Hi guys,
I've been defining profiles/MDGs for a while, but cannot figure out, how to make EA to address not only proper diagram type to composite diagram in stereotype definition but also to apply particular metamodel?
Any ideas?
Thanks
Miloš

Open the profile helper on you stereotype, select the metatype and then fill in the field Default Diagram Type and Make Composite

I'm not sure what you mean by "apply particular metamodel"

Thx Geert, yes, this works for diagram type - metamodel in terms of Sparx systems is sort of diagram subtype, which lets you even further constrain displayed toolbox and available realtionships. Basically it is model view definition (like in Archimate). So when you choose new diagram, you can choose applied metamodel (view). However if you create stereotype with defined composite diagram type, you cannot further say, which View (metamodel) it is:-(

I guess that is a limitation then. Do you know any existing MDG that creates composite diagrams with a specific metamodel applied?
If so then I guess there should be a way to do it for your own MDG as well.

I guess you need to do that with an add-in.
