Upgrade from V12 to V14
« on: July 17, 2019, 06:14:28 pm »
Hi guys,
I'm a newcomer on the forum, sorry if it's the wrong place to ask.
We currently use EA Corporate in it version 12 linked to a SQL server database.
Is there any impact to ugrade EA to v14 ?

Many thanks

Not on the database. But definitely on the GUI. Good luck then with finding your menus.

Thanks a lot for your answer !
No database structure changes due to new functionality then ?

Are there guides with menu mappings for different versions ?

No and no (except you digest the whole manual).

You don't need to read the whole manual.

Go to the Help, select User Interface > The Enterprise Architect Ribbons and skim through those topics.  Also look at the Keyboard Shortcuts topic.

For Browser Window context menu options, look at Model Navigation > The Browser Window > Browser Window Context Menus.

For Diagram Context Menus, go to Modeling > Building Models > Diagrams > Diagram Context Menu.

Note if you use Cloud Server, you need to run the SQL patch in order to upload images to your model. It was a bug in version 12 and solved in 14 with a patch.
