How to Upgrade EA V7.1.834 to V9.3.934
« on: July 20, 2012, 05:20:22 pm »
Hello, We have purchased the Enterprise Architect Version 7.1.834 from Sparx System in the year 2008. As the latest version 9.3.934 got more features, we would like to upgrade the old version from 7.1 to 9.3. Can anyone help me how to upgrade the version? as i am in need of "Database engineering/Import DB schema from ODBC".

Please let me know the solution.

Thanks,
Lavanya

You download the setup file, execute it, click next/next/next until you have a button that says finish...

No seriously, what info are you looking for? Basically that's it.

PS. If you have a DBMS repository then you might want to execute an upgrade script (or transfer your model to a "fresh" database), that might help with the performance.

To download the latest version of EA, you need to have a current support subscription.

For more information regarding support renewal, please see:
http://www.sparxsystems.com/support/faq/renew.html

Once you have downloaded the latest EASetupFull installer, as Geert said, it's just a matter of running the new installer.  It will automatically uninstall any existing version of Enterprise Architect currently on your system before upgrading.
