v15 – How to make persistence (and other properties) show in Properties Window

In v15, we saw that some tags moved from being just "tags" to being properties (as determined by the MDG).  This is good, but accompanying that change seems to have been the dynamic rendering of certain standard properties.  We used to be able to use the Persistence value directly from the Properties window.  Now we can't for most of our item metatypes (at least the ones we've checked).

How can we specify which properties we want to see on the Properties window against the specific metatype (or even in a hierarchy of metatypes)?
