Gap Analysis partial automation
« on: August 28, 2019, 04:46:29 am »
Have been reacquainting myself with the Gap Analysis functionality and have a question: is there a way to partially automate the process?

What I would like to do is to have something, perhaps a script, that loops through the target package and finds if an element exists in the baseline package. If it exists mark it, with a note (not sure about the text yet) and if it doesn’t, mark it with a note reading “Gap”.

This way the 1st step in the process can automated thus allowing all the attention to be concentrated in the important matter of assessing how big is the gap.

I never used the gap analysis, so I better should shut up and say nothing. But to my long years experience with EA: they are no good in anything related to processes. I'd rather see improving the basic UML handling, MDG, deployment in an enterprise to be support at least right or to be pushed towards better user experience. That's it. Anything else I had to say would likely end up in a useless rant.
