v15 - How to get the MDG profile toolbox
« on: September 19, 2019, 02:57:59 pm »
It may seem an odd question for someone who's used EA for over a decade, but how do I create a diagram to allow me to use the MDG toolbox to allow me to create an MDG profile?

I can now see that just enabling the MDG Technology Builder MDG isn't sufficient to enable the UML Profile toolbox (why NOT?).  I also need to enable the Basic UML® 2 Technology MDG to even make the toolbox visible on the selection list!

Anyhow, how do I mark the diagram (which I seem to only be able to create as a UML Class diagram) to select the toolbox automatically?

I have a suspicion, that's it's another one of these location-dependent properties that I've recently discovered, where instead of properties and functions being based on what a thing is, they are based on where it is.  But, I'd like to know.

I think it depends on the stereotype of the package («profile») the diagram is in, but I'm not sure.

That's what I thought also, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
