HTML export of 20MB model is 120MB
« on: December 22, 2019, 04:19:35 pm »
Is there a way to reduce the overall folder size of the exported model?  There are no huge files in the html export (including diagrams), just a bajillion files and folders.  Zipped, the 126MB becomes 32MB... not too bad but still bigger than the original model!  Is there a setting or configuration to have a smaller html folder size?  Thanks!!

You might be able to change something if you play with the image settings.

Also, make sure you export to a clean folder each time. If you don't, the files just get added to the previously existing files.

Yes clean folder every time.
As for image setting, I have export as PNG.  But I checked and image file size is small in the html export.

It was the 'clean folder'!
Now I manually delete all contents from the destination folder before running the html report.  Problem solved - total folder size is 11MB now (3MB zipped)
Thank you Geert!

I also didn't know until a few weeks ago when I was looking at the image files in my HTML export folder, and notices a bunch of "duplicate" images.

Each Export dialog in EA behaves different. At which place they ask to overwrite (the moment of Save or the Selection of the target), whether they ask to overwrite at all. Well, it's EA.
