UML Messages with Data Tadpoles
« on: January 07, 2020, 06:24:06 am »
Is there a way in EA to create UML message sequence diagrams where the message has an attached data flow using the data tadpole symbol?  Refer to the data tadpoles in the following image:

I am wondering if Data Tadpoles are perhaps a legacy UML 1.x concept.  Further to my question about how to support tadpoles in EA, can anyone confirm whether the data tadpole concept was replaced with "Information Flow" connectors in UML 2?

Definitely this isn't UML 2.5.  That "half arrow heads" I seem to remember to be an asynch call in older UMLs. So very unlikely you can get that from EA. I could think of some shape script to produce that. But most likely it wouldn't be much fun to implement it in full. Also, since it's not standard, my advice would be: don't unless the domain has a strong need for it.
