Just installed V15.1, and about the first thing I did was to set my current diagram as the Model Default.
Or rather, I didn't.

V15 help says (in https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.0/user_interface/using_the_diagram_panel.html) that the options include 'Set as user Default', and 'Set as Model Default'.

V15.1 help says (in https://sparxsystems.com/enterprise_architect_user_guide/15.1/user_interface/using_the_diagram_panel.html) that these options are no longer there. So the code is 100% consistent with the documentation!

Ok, so (1) why are they no longer there? and  (2) where are they now?

Oh, and (3) how many other secret changes to the UI have been made, that I'll only find when I'm in the middle of a customer demo, which will make me look an idiot. Again.
And please can the wonderful person who did a 'DIFF' on the documentation between two previous versions please do it again for v15 to v15.1.

Hi Ian,

I don't have a 15.1 installation, but there's a mention on the history page under 1520, section User Interface. It only mentions user default, not model default, but it links to the Desktop Panel page which does say something about the model default.

No idea whether that's accurate or not.

You are probably right, but as a minimum, where they randomly move an option from one place to another, it should be possible to find it quickly with 'Find Command...' .
Maybe also explain to us all WHY they moved it - that's just polite.

Oh, no argument here.

"Why" is probably a bridge too far, but a complete and correct list of UI changes from one version to the next is not too much to ask of a competent tool supplier.

Oops, there I go making blanket statements again.  :-[

Well, all those GUI changes form version to version are done to make EA radical better!

Some while ago in needed some seconds to find features I even use rarely, now I need more and more minutes.

A good thing needs some time and a better thing need more time. ;)

For those wondering where these options have been moved to:

User default diagram:

Start | Desktop | Workspaces | My Places | Manage

Model default diagram:

Start | Desktop | Workspaces | Model Places | Manage

Good thing about it is that you can now also select a diagram, and clear the default diagram. (remember how to clear the default diagram before? Create a dummy diagram, set it as default, and then delete it. Now that madness is no longer needed)

So I see it as an improvement, although I agree that Sparx should provide a map for all the options and where they have been moved too from version to version.
New users don't have this problem, but for us long term users it becomes harder and harder to remember where the menu options can be found.

Well new users do not have the problem now, but might get the problem in future, as long as the GUI commands continue to hop around each version.
