Property Value
« on: March 11, 2020, 11:30:06 pm »
I give up...

How can I create property values in Enterprise Architect V15?

As described in the book "A practical Guide to SysML" (C) Friedenthal. The attached link will guide to the google book Figure  7.22 Examples of property values

https://books.google.de/books?id=Ze60AwAAQBAJ&pg=PA138&lpg=PA138&dq=figure+7.22+example+of+property+values&source=bl&ots=ouapiTHtFX&sig=ACfU3U1YtJRFLyJGRj54VyMuQwJ4doeG-A&hl=de&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjj2ty5tZLoAhXM0KQKHUgABYgQ6AEwCnoECAsQAQ#v=onepage&q=figure%207.22%20example%20of%20property%20values&f=false

Hope you can help me...

There are many ways to go this in EA  15 and EA 15.1 but this is how I do it

 1. Open the BDD where the block for which the value property is to be added

2. Locate the block in the Browser

3. Click on Property in the BDD toolbox

4. Move to the Block in the Browser and click. You should see the Property added as a child element for the Block

5. Using the Properties for the Property element just added enter the name. Click the Property tab in the Properties and set the type to a SysML ValueType. It must be a ValueType not anything else.

6. Save the changes and you should see the values compartment on the Block on the BDD. It maybe necessary to reload the diagram

It is also possible to drag a Property from the BDD toolbox directly onto a Block. Just ensure that the Property has been created as child element to the Block (in EA v 15.1 just move the property so that it is entirely within the Block and does not overlap it,. After setting the Property Type to a ValueType simply delete (Del key) from the diagram to show the Block values compartment.

Repeat for other value properties and blocks

Hope this helps

All the best

Phil

Hi

No there are no incorrect settings

You must set the Type of the Property to a ValueType element, it appears there are no such elements in your model.

If you have not created any ValueType elements, then I suggest you create these before attempting to set the Type. These can be added to your diagram directly from the diagram toolbox.

Once the Property has been created (as per you image), select it and look at the Properties View

Here, there is a Tab named Property which you should select

On this Tab there is an entry named Type  click the drop down arrow and click Select Type...

You will then see a Navigation Dialog, where you can navigate through your model to select the ValueType element to be used as the Type for the Property.

Hi Phil, can you send me a picture?

I added a ValueType to the Diagramm bdd. https://imgur.com/a/H3N3A13
Then I clicked with the right mouse on the "Property1" Element in the Project Browser and choose "Properties /Properties" In this Popup Window is no Element "Type" visible.

Than I recognized in the "Features" window Parts/ Properties. But still there I cannot change the Type parameter.

Sorry. Hope you dont give up to give me another description.

We can go to this forum, where I can easily add some screenshots. https://groups.google.com/forum/#!topic/SysMLforum/DFX-n6K5Kdk

Thanks, Phil for your time.
