Metaclass alias
« on: June 01, 2020, 07:55:24 pm »
Hi everybody,

I'm working on a profile with a bit of complexity to it. In order to make it work, I have to use mutliple metaclasses of the same base class (in this case Class, just to be helpful).

Now, renaming these in order to distinguish them in the browser is not an option. But if I set aliases, and set the diagrams to prefer aliases, will that break anything?
I'm saving packages, not diagrams, as profiles.

TIA,

/Uffe

Hi Uffe, we've been doing that for a couple of years with apparently no ill effects.  We got sick of 200 "Class" (to our view spurious) Metaclasses (one per stereotype).   Unfortunately, you can't see the alias in the browser.

OK, thanks. I can live without seeing the differences in the browser (simply because I have no choice), but if I can separate them in the diagrams that helps. A little. A browser tooltip showing the alias would be useful but I'm asking too much again, aren't I.
