If you suppress property strings via Diagram | Elements | [ ] Suppress Element Property String they are normally suppressed.  However, for Components, they are NOT!  (specifically, in our case, the "{specification}" property)   Can anyone confirm?

Hmm. Never used that. Which element properties are effected at all? Or in other words: what is the element property string?

Hi Thomas,
In this case it was isSpec.  From memory, isLeaf, isRoot, isAbstract also will generate the property string.

I see (still quite some areas I almost never used). So for a class this will show "properties" from the Details tab. But components do not have that Detail tab. And of course I can't show any "property string".

(my emphasis)
That's the subject of another upcoming post...

Given the Component has no details tab, then NO properties should be displayed, regardless (in the current setup).  But I'd be happy with the component honouring the setting since they are currently displayed.

In this case, a script was used to set the property (or it could be set in the DB directly).

I see. I probably have no got time yet to check that (house renovation is top priority now). But since you put in something from the backdoor it's quite likely that EA does not handle this properly (for the one or other reason).
