Do you use merge files with an SQL Server repository?
« on: September 01, 2020, 01:34:16 am »
I have a model that is connected to a SQL Server repository. I recently discovered there is a merge file feature whereby you export to XMI 1.1 and then bring in the changes again and they are compared with the baseline. There was a really cool video on Sparx Systems website that demonstrated it. However, my question is, if you have a repository model, do you even need this capability? All users can simultaneously edit the model. On the other hands, I suppose I need it if there is a user that does not have access to the database either because they are outside the company or do not have a connection to the company network.

The type of backend repository is not relevant.
They are all databases of some kind.
