We are increasingly using "native XML export/import to move selected branches - it's SO much faster!

However, before we go the "whole hog" I thought I'd enquire as to whether it works in the same way as the Controlled Package Save to file/Load from the file where the process checks for existing relationships external to the selected branch and restores them after the process completes.

Can anybody (preferably a Sparxian) confirm/deny that?

TIA,
Paolo

Anyone?  Does it work the same way?

In particular, does it include: [  ] For all packages, create placeholders for external references

I wouldn't know. I tried if a few times, but found it to be not that much better than the regular xmi export/import.

For us it's much faster (as much as 10x for large branches).

If it works properly, we'd switch to it (wherever we can).  Sparx has announced their intention to add it to all the XML input/output mechanisms.
