Something is wrong with the Browser

I'm in a state of absolute confusion. The browser all of a sudden (?) shows not the single project root but a zillion of roots. Running the recovery brought back a lot of lost diagrams (which were there a minute ago). I probably have to resort to my backup since that just does not look sane. I have been using that native XML import. Well, I should make more backups, I guess. And also be careful with "new features". I knew that. Why can't I listen to myself?
