15.2 and SQL error
« on: September 16, 2021, 12:14:08 am »
Since 15.2 I'm getting errors when I open a repo in PostgreSQL, where 15.1 had no issue. Now I get a box saying "SQL Error at updating Reference Data" and not quite sure where to look. The PostgreSQL server runs on the host, Mint 20.1, so could have been updated, 15.2 I installed, but haven't used much of late, my employer has provided a license on their laptop, so I've not been using it a lot. I do remember it was working perfectly. So any suggestions on what to check first would be appreciated. I did open de ODBC manager, and the test connection is fine. From a PgAdmin view, it looks good, but it's not.

Look into %APPDATA% - some Sparx folder - dberror.txt. That should give the failing query (eventually). Not that it would help you, but maybe someone got an idea if you post it.

Good tip, but the last entry is more than a year old. Oddly enough I tried opening a database I hadn't touched in a while, and I got the error, but the repo  still opened. Since then, the other also open but the error is still shown.

I am wondering if it has something to do with the reference  data that you import/export? But in all my years with EA, this one is new to me. Based on the efforts so far, I an thinking it might not be related to the DBMS, but what is it then?

You'd best mail Sparx support for that. Without looking into your config it's hard to tell.

So I did and it turns out that it was an add-on, in my case the RAMI toolbox, which I was intending to use for some Industry 4.0 work, but never did. So I simply removed that add-on and it was solved. No more errors....
