Connector vs. Item Flow in Internal Block Diagrams (SysML)

Hi everyone,

I hope this question was not already answered. But at least I search for it and could not find it.

I would say that I'm quite experienced with SysML/UML but I still don't really get the real difference between Connectors and Item Flow on Internal Block Diagrams.
This question applies to Information flows on Composite Structure Diagrams as well.
