v16 Diagram Frames
« on: October 26, 2022, 12:07:58 am »
When you drag and drop one diagram onto another diagram as a diagram frame, EA 15.2 gives you a few options on how to display the frame of the dropped-in diagram. e.g., you can show the header, hide it, or partly show the information. However, in EA 16 the diagram border is always hidden. While the option to change the appearance of the border still exists, it does nothing. It seems the option you select in EA 16 does take effect, but it only visually appears when viewing in EA 15.2.

This behavior appears to still be happening (at least in the trial version), I'm just evaluating EA for use in sysML modeling and this behavior is one of the biggest sticking points because we can't figure out how to show a high-level diagram that contains multiple others, which is very important for our documentation. Have you figured out any workarounds or have there been updates that prevent this from happening now that maybe weren't pushed into the trial version installation?

I'm in build 1628. Tried your situation and I think I get all of the options you expected.
Once diagram B has been dragged & dropped in place onto Diagram A, select 'Diagram Frame'. Then, right-click on the diagram B 'frame' and in the contexct menu select 'Appearance > Diagram Frame Appearance'. All of your options are there.

Helllo all,

This issue can still be reproduced when diagram frames are on the SysML diagrams. I have already reported this issue, but it has not been fixed yet because there is no release after my report. I hope in the next release. (To do so, please post the bug report to Sparx. Number of reports for the same issue could raise the priority.)

Thanks Takeshi, I've also submitted a bug report, hopefully this does eventually get fixed.
