The Sparxian documentation is from 2008. So go ahead and mail their support about your issues.

Done that. Both Sparx and Siemens no longer support this MDG. Bought several licenses from Sparx in 2009.
Sparx says it even does not know what this is, and Siemens says Sparx should give support. CheckMate to the customer...
It worked perfectly until a year ago, and we are not sure what change in the environment was the cause of EA not being able to load it as an MDG.
We get "Missing 0x80040154" in Manage Add-Ins, and we cannot find the reason.
One of the questions is regarding the TCSE client's version, and whether it being a 64-bit application causing the problem.
Any help will be more than welcome...

Who wrote the add-in?

That is realistically the only one who can investigate and solve the problem.
The error code represents "Class not registered".

This usually means that the add-in is trying to create a COM object by the ClassName, but for some reason the class isn't registered correct.
Installing a 64 bit application instead of a 32 bit application could very well be the cause of the issue.

At a guess: Siemens. And the department doing that in 2008 isn't even known yet by Siemens veterans.

P.S. No! Reading the first part of that document it seems clear that this is a pure Sparx product. So here I would guess it's written in the marketing department.

Hello Taco2704,

I guess that you may continue using the Add-in by uninstalling current EA and install 32-bit version of EA 16.0/16.1.

HTH,

I don't think that will be the solution. In a 64-bit EA, the add-in wouldn't even show up in the manage addins window.

Hi Geert,

Yes, you are right! I forgot it. So he must already use the 32-bit version of EA.
Thank you for pointing out.

Thanks guys. Actually, Sparx and some Siemens experts made a joint effort in writing that piece. We bought it from Sparx, but later they transferred it to Siemens, and then Siemens just dropped it. My guess (not so educated) is that the problem could be caused by having a 64-bit TCSE client, together with either a 32-bit or 64-bit EA (tried both), but the add-on being 32-bit (nothing to do about that). We will try on a machine with a legacy 32-bit TCSE client, to make sure that this might be the problem.

Seems very plausable.
