Relationships in Data Models
« on: June 03, 2024, 07:45:09 pm »
I am drawing a large data model as a result not all the entities are appearing on one screen which makes it very hard to draw. Is there a way of entering the target and related elements in a box rather than having to physically draw it in the class diagram? thanks

use the relationship matrix, or a "working" diagram.

Is it possible to create a matrix showing just the following: the names and aliases of elements with a given stereotype that are present included in the same diagram as the matrix?

There is no such thing as "the same diagram as the matrix" as matrixes don't live on diagrams (or in the model).

But you can base your matrix contents on a query, so in theory that should be possible.

You could also base your matrix on the elements available in a package.

It is possible to embed a matrix specification in a diagram, this what I was referring to.

The problem with the matrix specifications is that you can only store the packages as source/target, no searches or queries.

I think I am getting a bit lost here, on previous versions of Sparx EA it was possible to create a query driven matrix specifications. Have I missed something?
