Drag diagram/elements to Addin Window
« on: January 23, 2014, 08:39:25 pm »
Hello,

I've seen in the forum some posts about drag and drop. Nothing encouraging.

Has anybody newer experiences with this topic?

I can drop a file of e.g. Explorer to my addin. But no EA element or diagram.

Thanks for helping.

There are only a couple of places where EA uses the kind of drag and drop that your add-in could possibly hook into. Even then, the format used is not published so you won't be able to hook into it.

Having said that. Changing the way that works (and publishing the format(s) that we use) is something I've really wanted to see happen for some time.

I would really love support for drag and drop as well, in both ways if at all possible..
So drag and drop from EA to an add-in window, and drag and drop from an add-in window to EA (mostly for diagrams, but also for project browser)

Well Geert, I believe it is a possibility, but I can't make any promises.

It would make me happy too.
So that would be me, Geert AND Helmut made happy, and that's GOT to be worth a tiny little code change....Please ?

tiny little code change
It looks quite substantial both from a coding perspective and from a testing perspective.

I already want it to happen so trying to convince me isn't necessary.

Or is that just my developers?

I expected more to hear the name of the "big sparkling boss" in the background.
