reference elements standard?
« on: August 02, 2005, 08:05:05 am »
Is the selection of metaclass reference elements available when creating profiles standard in UML, or defined by EA?

I'm trying to get familiar with creating profiles and having difficulties getting going.

Specifically I'm trying to work through an example of a profile for SOA (http://www-128.ibm.com/developerworks/rational/library/05/419_soa/).

An example of what's hanging me is that the article has a <<metaclass>> Property, which is not available in EA.

Suggestions? Substitute a different reference element in EA? Buy Irrational Rose?

thx

AFAIK you are free in defining metaclasses in you profile. Have you tried to create one? The help file is quite okay to start with...

Ah.

I presumed that the selectable "reference elements" were somehow special and that I'd need to get my "Property" into the list.

Thanks.
