Names and Stereotype information in UML Profiles
« on: February 23, 2006, 05:39:57 am »
Hi

I have a few questions regarding UML profiles and how the names of the elements are generated.

I would like to make my own profiles consisting of both items I define mysef, and "standard EA" elements from the toolboxes provied with the system.

How can I have the name shown in the Toolbox differ from the name of the stereotype? When I specifying my own elements, I use <<extension>> and the name of the element in the toolbox will be the name of the stereotype itself.

When using "standard EA" elements I use <<redefinition>> and the name shown in the toolbox will be the internal name of the item and not the name usually shown in the toolbox menu. I have tried to use <<extension>> instead, to change the name, but then the stereotype shows on the diagrams.

Short question. Is there a way to control the element names shown in the toolbox not linked to either the stereotype name or the internal element name?

Thanx in advance.

Henrik
