Cherry Picking Elements etc.
« on: March 31, 2006, 12:36:59 am »
Sorry if this is obvious but I'm new!...Part of the Internal processes for the Co. I now work for includes creating Overview documents.

Is there a neat way of using the model to generate Documents (RTF) but 'mark' some diagrams, elements etc. as Included / Excluded.
e.g. An overview Reqmt. Doc which only wanted to include actual Functional Reqmts. and Business Rules and the Security & Persistance packages??

Hi,

you can filter what goes into documentation by Package Phase or Element Status, so you could use this is a workaround. It would be nice if the documentation could be filtered by a Tag Value as well...

Hope this helps!

Thanks for that Bruno. Yes I had spotted those values.
Problem is I'm not sure at this stage whether we'll need to use the Phase value (as this will be a multiple drop Project and so this value will help us managed the iterations) and the Element status will be evolving as we move through the Project as well.

Yes,  a Tagged value filter would have helped me out here I think :0)
