Attributes of metaclass
« on: October 19, 2007, 08:21:03 am »
Hi All,

Trying to find my way ... sorry if this is an obvious to everyone.

When creating a profile, I can add attributes to stereotypes, which will end up as tagged values.

I can also add attributes to the metaclass, but where do these "end up" ? For instance, when a create an ActionPin metaclass, it comes with some attributes isStream isExeption ..., but when actually using the profile, I can't find a trace of those attributes anywhere. I am probably overlooking something or dramatically missing the point :-)

And where can I find (in the docs or standards specification) which ones are applicable to what kind of metaclass ?

E.g, _makeComposie is as an attribute of the _metaclass and not of the stereotype, so is _defaultdiagramType

I'm not sure if I remember correctly, but try enabling display of inherited attributes. You will find this setting on the Set Feature Visibility dialog, which you can get to via a right-click when one or more elements are selected.

I don't think there is a default setting that will turn this on for newly created elements.

No, you can't have it!
