BPMN-Question

Hi - I'm relatively new to BPMN modeling and therefore have a couple of questions;

1. Is it ok to use both normal activity activities and business process activities in the same diagram? The IBM Stephen White introduction indicates that it would.

2. Given that I do use both these types of activities in one and the same diagram and want to have any given business process send a message to another process or activity, this is easily modeled - but - when digging down to the lower level (in the individual  business process diagram) of actually describing this process and its activities, how do I model which of the activities that actually sends the message?

3. If I model as above and want to show which of the inner activities within a certain business process that recieve a certain message, how is this modeled (on the detailed, low level) diagram?
