relation between use cases
« on: August 11, 2008, 01:14:30 pm »
hi there
I have a use case that is pre-condition of another use case. But how would I show it in diagram. The relation is not include and extend. So is there any other relation between use cases apart from include/extend?

A Dependency.  Use Case B is dependent on Use Case A.  You can read about this connector in the UML Dictionary section of the Help, and also flick through the other connector descriptions quite quickly.

Also, there is an association stereotype called "precede." However I think it is important to use different use case diagrams to represent different views...

Generally, you do NOT use use case diagram to represent "flow". Attempting to show multiple types of associations between use cases on the same diagram may become too busy and actually confuse the relationships your trying to express.

Hi RezaTech,

On the left hand side menu of EA, you can find Use Case Relationships. Those are: Use, Associate, Generalize, Include, Extend, Realize, Invokes, Precedes.
