BPMN Profile an observation
« on: May 19, 2009, 08:24:24 pm »
Hi All

I had an EA Analysis diagram on the diagram I had serval process elements (the arrow like symbol), I was interested to see if this diagram could be "brought up-to-date" to BPMN, by changing the stereotypes.

I opened the properties and then navigated to the stereotype dialog, removed (unchecked) the existing stereotype and selected "BusinessProcess" from the BPMN1.1 profile.

Lo and behold the appearance change to that of BPMN, great and just what I expected.   :) BUT, the set of tagged values normally associated with this stereotype (the set you get if you create a BusinessProcess using the BPMN1.1 toolbox) are not available  :(

Does anyone know why? Can these tagged values be obtained and if so how?

Cheers

If you're working with EAv7.5, go to the BPMN 1.1 toolbox, right-click in "Business Process" item, and select "Synchronize Stereotyte". This add all Tags to the Business Process.

You can also drag and drop the element from the tool bar onto an existing element on a screen and it will update it - just been using this after moving from BPMN 1 to 1.1.  Works for any element and is also a good way of applying your own stereotypes retrospectively to individual elements.
